Painting a Camo Wall Will Enhance Camouflage Bedroom Decorating

There are a couple of different ways to decorate a bedroom with camouflage. One of them is to paint the walls either a light color or camo green and then purchase camouflage bedding, drapes, and accessories. The other way is to paint at least one wall of the room in camo. By choosing the various paint colors in your favorite camouflage pattern, you'll be able to recreate the design on the wall. In fact, the process is so simple that your son will be able to participate in painting some of the design with you. If you don't feel confident about painting camo on the wall, there are still a lot of ways to achieve the look.

The project of painting camouflage on your wall starts with you drawing the fluid shapes like the pattern on the wall with a pencil. Study the actual fabric you're basing the wall on to see where you want to put the different colors. You can either begin by painting a dot of the colors you want to use on each shape, or you can decide as you go along. Make sure that you create a good mix of lights and darks, because that's what makes camouflage effective. To get some ideas about how to paint your wall, you will be able to find pictures online of the walls other people have created. A well-done wall will look super cool.

You will want to purchase artist's brushes to complete your design. You need to be able to achieve smooth, crisp lines between the colors, and you can't do that with a big old paintbrush. After all, you aren't really just painting a wall here; you're creating a mural. With this type of a wall decor, you don't want to overdo. In most rooms, one wall will be plenty. You will then want to choose one of the colors you used in your camouflage to paint the other walls.

If you want to add more items to the room, take a look at some of the camouflaged furniture that you'll find online. It's unbelievable the number of different pieces you can get. Beds, dressers, night stands, mirrors, and computer desks sporting a camouflage design are all for sale. You can even get bedding to match the furniture and an army tent canopy to go over the bed. By using camouflage bedroom décor you can create the perfect environment for your little corporal to play with his army of little plastic men.

The Firehouse Bedroom

If you little man loves firefighters, then a firehouse theme would be perfect for his room. There are plenty of firefighter wallpaper borders that you can hang on the walls. If you are talented enough, you could draw a firefighter scene such as a fire truck on the walls.

There are plenty of accessories that you can add to a firehouse theme such as a fireman's hat, a hose hanging on the wall, a fireman's pole, and fire truck bedding. You can even give your boy a siren for his room, if you dare!

The Bedroom from Outer Space

Outer space is a really neat theme for any little boy's room. There are outer space and star wallpaper borders and even star and planet decals. If you have the time and talent, you can even look for space ship or planet templates that you can trace and paint on the walls.

A cool addition to the décor of this room is painting the ceiling black and then using glow in the dark paint to add stars and planets to the ceiling. Throw in a couple Martian stuffed animals and your little boy's room is now in open outer space.

Pirate Themes for Bedrooms

For a pirate room you can use movies such as Peter Pan and Pirates of the Caribbean as your references depending on how old your son is. Paint the walls blue for the ocean.

An awesome way to add some life into the theme would be to paint a pirate ship on one of the walls or paint an island with a treasure chest overflowing with treasure on the shore. Add such accessories such as nets, portholes, treasure boxes with booty, and throw in a couple pirate hats.

Decorating Your Boy's Room with His Favorite Animals Never Fails

Does your son love monkeys or lizards? How about decorating his room in his favorite animals? You can take this theme and customize it to the little boy as it can have a very wide range of ideas.

If your son has a pet, you can always have that be the theme of the room and have a special place for his pet to live. If your son is old enough, be sure that you take his interests into consideration and not just choose an animal theme for his room.

Some other unique decorating themes for a little boy's room include:

Cowboys Dinosaurs Race cars Military Jungle Sports Construction Licensed characters and cartoons Haunted House Bugs The Wild Outdoors Robots

The best way to find the decorating theme that your son will love is to involve him in the process of picking and choosing what he wants in the room and let him have a say in the set up of the room.

Locker Organizer Ideas and Decorating Tips For Boys

Although boys typically are not as excited about decorating their school lockers as girls are, there are some accessories available that will keep them organized and have their lockers looking 'trendy' yet 'cool'. The primary thing that every student (boy or girl) should have in their lockers, are organizers. The locker organizer is the single most important accessory that can have impact on your student's grades. Poor organization skills often result in late assignments, missing assignments, poor test grades and more.

Boys

The Locker Organizer

Choose a basic design one that is simplistic, yet effective. Most times boys choose accessories that are cut and dry. No need for all of the frill and flowers, just a simple tool to get the job done. As a parent you want to make sure that you get the best organizer that your student can use. There are some that have one shelf but ideally you want to use an organizer that has two shelves, giving your student the ability to now have two sections to store his school supplies and textbooks. Also you want to make sure the organizer/shelf is durable. Most times students have very heavy textbooks and the weight capability is a very important factor to be considered.

Now for the fun stuff. The next item on the agenda is the decorating part. It is a true statement that the amount of accessories available for girls far outweighs the accessories available for boys however, there are fun school locker ideas for boys as well.

Wall decals

Wall decals are primarily thought of to be used for walls, however because of the material that they are made of is a thin yet flexible vinyl material, they adhere to just about every surface and most are repositionable. The designs to choose from are unlimited and just about any idea from sports themes, cartoon characters, to simple shapes can be found.

Magnetic Locker Mirror

Always a plus, the boys have to make sure their hair and clothes are intact too.

Magnetic Dry Erase Board

Good for leaving reminders homework assignments, appointments etc or use it to write the joke of the day.

There are tons of locker accessories that are perfect for the boys. Similarly locker organizers are a great starter item, if your student does not want to be bothered with the extra accessories and is actually the most important item that he can use.
